Outside My Comfort Zone #1 2015

We're getting back on this outfit challenge horse, yes we are!

I don't know how long it's been since the last one of these. Last year sometime? We used to post fortnightly, but now we do a monthly post - on the last Thurs of the month.

Steph picked the theme (she also does a grand job of organising us ladies too.)
I've recently bought my first pair of patterned leggings and had a few comments about being brave to wear them. It got me thinking about this challenge. For this challenge I'd like us to cover our legs in patterns. This could be tights, leggings, trousers, skirts, dresses, marker pens, anything you like as long as your legs are in some way covered in a pattern. Show people patterns look great on the bottom half of our bodies.

I decided to wear some leggings from Everything 5 Pounds I've had for ages but only worn once. They don't really go with anything as they're quite loud, so I decided to wear something matching in colour and it looks like I'm wearing my pyjamas from a distance! (Except I'm wearing wedges and hair flowers, too.) The leggings are good though, as they've got lots of animals on them like polar bears and penguins. Actually, I think I'll wear them as PJ bottoms in future. Why didn't I think of that before? D'oh!

I'm going to be honest, my kneejerk reaction when I saw these photos (as well as not liking the clothes together) was OMG I MAY AS WELL BE NAKED. You can see errrrrrthang. Then, that kneejerk reaction passed, I looked again and thought Damn, you've got it all going on. My arse looks amazing!

THIS is why it's SO important to take photos of ourselves from all angles. It isn't just important to change other people's perspectives of fat people, but also our own perspectives as well. I can't speak for anyone else but I've grown up hearing shit about my body and bodies like mine my whole life. It takes time to get rid of that crap. I'm only starting to unravel my baggage with regards to my body, and I've been working on myself in that regard for 3 or 4 years now. It's work, but it's SO worth it.

So this isn't my favourite outfit of all time by any means, but it's vital because I got reacquainted with all the ins and outs of my body.

I'm wearing:
Animal print jumper, past season New Look (size 24) via Mookie
Leggings, (size 28) past Everything 5 Pounds
Wedges, past season Evans
Hair flowers, old New Look & Peacocks

The others taking part are:

Thanks for reading!
