24th & Ocean plus size skirted swimdress by Navabi - plus videos

Hiya! In this post I've got some more swimwear to show you from my holiday. I'll be reviewing the 24th & Ocean skirted plus size swimdress from Navabi. 24th & Ocean plus size skirted swimdress by Navabi - fit

I do really like this swimdress, although when it arrived it was clear there was a sizing issue. It was supposed to be a size 26/28 UK, but was more like a size 24. I got it pulled up (just about) but it flattened my boobs as it was so tight. The swimdress was comprised of the skirt layer loose and free over the top of a mesh layer, the latter which was attached to the pants part of the swimdress. I cut off the pants, freeing up the rest of the material to go where it was supposed to, and wore it over some high waisted bikini bottoms from ASOS Curve which I bought last year. Ta-da! Perfect. After it had arrived and I'd decided to do my DIY mission I saw there was a new review up on the website which warned of the sizing issue, so it's not just me. If you buy this, do size up to the next size if you can. The size I'm wearing is the biggest size they do - a supposed 26/28, but really a 24.

It gives great bust support, and has adjustable straps to aid fit. The straps were a little thin for my liking, but they were still comfortable. Overall this swimsuit was completely comfortable once I'd chopped the pants out of it to free up some room.

The suit comes with very light padded cups which move around as you roll the suit on and off, which requires some patience to put back in place. As you can see from these photos, I lack that patience! I just let them do their thing. Once my fashion show was over I was getting in the water!

The ruching under the bust gives great form and the material feels weighty and luxurious. It is a premier garment at a premier price, coming in at £89.99. My favourite part of all is the laser cut hem, which is adorable. The flippy skirt is really cute too, and felt quite retro.

In case you've never bought anything from Navabi, their website is excellent. You can narrow down your search on the left hand side of the website by price, item, colour and so on. When you click through to an individual item, it has a thorough description of the material(s) the product is made of, and often has close up photos of the details too. This is a touch other retailers would be wise to adopt. 

Aside from the sizing issue I really like this swimdress, and as it's such good quality I know it'll last for years. I'm going on holiday again in July so I look forward to wearing it again.

Floaty and feminine with Navabi and New Look Curves

I knew it wouldn't be long before I wore this jacket again! I couldn't resist. I'm wearing it with a dipped back Zizzi dress I got from Navabi a few months ago.

This is me enjoying the sun and breeze, not my O face!

Today I got my legs out. They're not the prettiest legs in the world but they're MINE. The feeling of the breeze/sun on your body is waaaaaay more important than what randoms in the street may think of you, so please get out allllll those body parts you've been keeping to yourself. #effyourbeautystandards #allbodieshavevalue

I've not been the greatest fan of my legs, because of the scars on them and the redness from my Fibro rash, but damn it I deserve to feel the air and sun on them as much as anyone does. Don't let your feelings about your body make you miss out. I'm not going to any more. Legs out 2k16!

Outfit | Zizzi wrap effect layered chiffon dress from Navabi

Hello loves,

I've had this dress for over a month but have only just captured it in adequate enough daylight to share. I wore this out last week when I went to lunch in my hometown with my friend Abi.

It's a lovely dress and so well made. It's heavy, made of thick layers of chiffon and it has a stretchy lining. It isn't that nasty polyester a lot of garments are lined with - it's a breathable fabric. It's comfortable to wear and can be dressed up or down. It's probably one of the best quality dresses I own. I've been very impressed with Navabi - they don't body shame on social media, they offer free delivery, postage is very quick and it's very much no-fuss online purchasing. Just how it should be.


I'm holding my hair back in most of the shots where I'm facing the wind as it was so fierce on this day. You can see the movement of the dress in a few of the shots too. :) The wind knocked my tripod flying - thank God Canon DSLRs are hardy. I was expecting the worst when it clattered to the ground but it was totally unscathed.

This was in the midst of my foot and leg swelling and you can see my ankles are all puffy. They're better now thankfully. It was really painful for a few days.

As well as the wrap effect at the bust there's a little peekaboo section, which I'm almost busting out of! I'm wearing the dress in an XL and it fits brilliantly in the waist and hips, but my wide back is straining the confines of the bust. If you're wide in the back or have very large boobs, size up if you can. It has a slight high-low effect at the back, which is always appreciated by me because of my sizeable behind, and often garments are fine at the front and too short at the back. Not in this case.
