Nature goth in Wiltshire

Oh God, about the last 6 outfits I've worn have involved this hareem dress, which has now sold out. I wonder if others did what I did - buy one, realise it was the comfiest dress on earth then buy another! Having two of them means it's rarely off my body. I'm sorry it's sold out (I dislike posting outfits when things are sold out) but you can knot a t-shirt over any black maxi dress and achieve the same kind of look. Carry on reading to see me frolicking in a rapeseed field and taking outfit photos with a cat sitting on my foot. As you do.

Everything I'm wearing apart from the dress is old. The leather jacket is old New Look Curves, as is the t-shirt I'm wearing over the dress. The dress is from ASOS Curve and I really hope they restock. These dresses are selling out as soon as they come in. I bought a yellow one less than a week ago and it has already completely sold out.

I'm calling this outfit nature goth as I've discovered the wow aspect of an all black outfit against a riot of colour from nature. I'm declaring Nature Goth officially a thing! 😊 James and I spent last weekend in Wiltshire with our good friends M & T. We crammed so many things into two days. We spent much of it tearing around the countryside making the most of the mild weather. The highlights for me were being adopted by a church cat, and taking photos in a rapeseed field, making for some stunning images. My least favourite part was falling down some steps and spraining my ankle, but the memories will last a lot longer than the bruises.

The only drawback to this dress is it picks up every bit of fluff you come across. When I came out of the rapeseed field I looked like a Minion! I had yellow all over me.

Look at all those lovely blossoms!
I just had to shower myself in them.
I have hayfever but thankfully being in the rapeseed field didn't set me off too much. Cut grass is the worst thing for me. You'll see me running when people get their lawnmowers out!

Thanks for reading, and I soon hope to show you something other than this dress! Leah xoxo

    1. Thanks Christy! We were out in nature for several hours both days so I was in my element. Hehe, I know rapeseed is a bugger for a lot of people's hayfever. I guess I got lucky on that front. xxxxx

    1. Thanks Christie, it was. The cat was a playful little sausage - he rolled over so I could tickle his tummy and then when I did he bit and scratched me. That would've been enough to put most people off but not me. He sat on my foot for a few minutes while we did outfit shots, then followed us into the church. Such a cutie, it really made my day.

  4. What fabulous photos! And that gorgeous wee kitty too! Did he belong to someone? I don't think I could have left him behind :) Hubby keeps telling me to stop trying to adopt other people's pets but I can't help it, they like me :)

I would've been off into that rapeseed field too in a flash too, even if it did set off my asthma, worth it for so much beauty around me. I love this time of year Leah, just love it! Thank you for sharing honey, love this post x

    1. I'm not sure if the cat was feral or belonged to someone who lived near the church. He was a feisty wee bugger - he let me rub his tummy for a few seconds then bit my hand (drawing blood, too) and scratched my arm 3 times. He was so cute I didn't stop stroking him. He was very cute, he sat on my foot for a few minutes then followed us into the church and jumped on the baptismal font!

The rapeseed field was lovely! Now I want to find a field of poppies to take photos in. xxx

  5. Hi leah
Just found you this morning after phoning an order into the big bloomers company and they said I might like your blog.
The pussy cat looks to be a "Bengal tiger", my mum has one and yes they are gorgeous cats but not many generations from the wild so still abit vicious when they are trying to be affectionate! My poor dog is so afraid of this cat as he often goes up to her all friendly then grabs her around the throat! They are beautiful creatures most definitely.
Thanks for doing this lovely blog and good luck with your health issues.

    1. Ah, thanks so much for your lovely comment Sinnie! <3 I knew he was playing and didn't mean to hurt me, and it didn't put me off stroking him some more anyway. I grew up with cats so getting the odd clawing is all part of the fun. ;) He was ever so sweet when he was sitting on my foot - I think he might've been trying to warm his balls up, hahaha! Bless the Big Bloomers staff for recommending me too - they're fantastic! xx
