Hello lovelies! I'm an alternate chick at heart, and in the past plus size alt clothing has been dire. I grew tired of looking for clothes that reflected that side of my personality, realising most companies didn't see fat rock chicks as worthy of clothing. I settled for whatever I could find in my size and concentrated more on the girly side of my personality. There's no need for plus size people to feel 'grateful' for the clothing options we're given any more, and thankfully over the years all kinds of plus size options have got better, including alt styles. This kimono is from EMP who specialise in rock and geeky merchandise.

Hello babes! I've been trying to look at my fashion in a different way. Instead of thinking of everything in a fast-fashion-everything-new-is-wonderful way I'm reminding myself how many old faves I have and how glorious it is to wear things I want to wear, rather than feeling the pressure to be Mrs Bloggy McBloggerface at all times. I always feel bad if I show off old stuff on this blog, which is ridiculous because none of us are Kardashian rich (as far as I know!) Let's dispense with this obsession for new shit, yeah? Of course new things are nice an' all, but so is being able to afford your rent. 😀 So yes, I need to get rid of this blogger mentality I carry around with me and stop apologising for 'everything old' posts. So with a proud flourish and some jazz hands I say - everything in this post is old, especially the bag, which I've had since the late 90s/early 2000s.

Hi loves,
OMG, I've bought the best leggings in the world. I'm basically living out ALL my childhood dreams as an adult because when I was a child/teen there was never any fun clothing in my size.
I'm not stranger to 'out there' looks - blue lipstick, undercuts, hell I even shaved my eyebrows off once. (No you can't see the photos, I looked like an alien!) But this might be my most out-there post of them all. Tank Girl and Mad Max are being channeled in this look.

Hello loves,
I saw Witch Worldwide on Instagram and fell in love with their spooky designs, and when they had money off over Black Friday I had to buy one of their oversized t-shirts. I went for this witch symbols one. Witch Worldwide are in the US, created by Alyssa Thralls and postage took about 2 weeks, which is pretty good since it takes into account the Black Friday rush/Christmas post. It came with a couple of stickers too. I love stickers. I've smothered the side of our fridge-freezer with stickers that came with purchases.
I'm wearing a 3x-6x and it's such a good size on me, lovely and baggy. The cotton is pre shrunk so you know it's going to stay baggy. Postage was about $18 to the UK and I was lucky not to be charged customs fees.
This is my favourite kind of wintry outfit - dark, oversized and cosy. The cardi is actually aubergine not black and it's so soft it's a pleasure to wear. I could wear a variation of this look all the time. It's so me!
I'm wearing:
Witch symbols t shirt, Witch Worldwide
Cardigan, New Look Inspire last year
Cropped leggings, Very (twin pack one short, one cropped pair)
Boots, New Look Inspire last year
Necklace, Hootie McBoutique (back to front in all shots, d'oh me)
We've had Mookie and Mike staying with us this weekend and it's been wonderful. We did lots of fun things. I hope you've had a good weekend too.
Leah xoxo

Outfit Post || All black with Yours Clothing
Monday, 8 December 2014
Hello loves!
Happy Monday. I had some bonus money come in so I treated myself to a few bits from Yours Clothing when they had 25% off for Black Friday. I'm wearing two of them here - an oversized top with a sheer panel on the back and some lace-side leggings.
I know, I know, all black again! This ex gothlet loves black and I always feel fierce and vampy in it. Because both the top and the leggings have design features I don't feel this is a boring outfit at all, especially in conjunction with my butt-kicking New Rock boots. I rarely wear heels, and putting these bad boys on reminds me how invincible I feel when I'm a couple of inches taller. I walk more upright and hold my head up higher when I'm taller, but these boots are definitely the safest way for me to add extra height.
I've had problems with my joints since I fell down a flight of concrete stairs as a small child. All that trauma to my back has lead to a lifetime of pain and other problems. I've never had it confirmed, but a lifetime of easy sprains and countless injuries to my ankles and wrists (and to a lesser extent my knees, elbows, shoulders and hips) leads me to believe I might have hypermobility issues...and that would fit in with the later Fibromyalgia diagnosis as when your joints are constantly disco dancing, that will of course weaken them further each time and cause pain. One small decision to playfully jump down a step and missing the one I aimed for led to all this. Isn't life a funny ol' game?
Backing away from ruminating about how one small decision can impact on the rest of your life, let's get back to the fashion, shall we? The top is very oversized. I'm wearing a 26/28 and am glad I didn't size up as there's plenty of room in it. The leggings are made of a ponte-like fabric - they're thicker than normal leggings and I'm guessing this is to make a stronger garment overall, as of course the lace is the weak link, as it were.
Necklace, custom by Black Heart Creatives
Hair flower, past season NewLook
Bracelets gift/old Primark
Ring, old New Look
Dipped hem batwing top with sheer panel £17 Yoursclothing.co.uk
Leggings with lace side trim £16 Yoursclothing.co.uk
New Rock boots, various stockists
Here's an edited photo of my makeup.
Thanks for reading!

Hello love bugs!
I've had this dress in my wardrobe since summer but only got around to wearing it for the first time today as it was too hot for it before. I bought it from a plus size selling group on Facebook after seeing gorgeous Lucia wearing it.
Although I said I'm going to concentrate a bit more on the more alternative side of my personality there will still be some girly outfits too. I still love pink and florals - I'm just going to bring my alt side out a bit more.
Every time I take photos in front of this door I mean to apologise for the hideous carpet. When we looked at the flat initially they told us the carpets would be replaced before we moved in as they were stained, threadbare, fraying at the edges and cigarette burned. 4 and a half years on and that still hasn't happened. I raised getting them professionally cleaned with someone from the letting agents and they don't think they'll survive another clean so either I get on my hands and knees and scrub or get a runner carpet to put over it to hide it.
Sorry, I just totally spent half an hour looking at runner carpets. Ooh, zebra print you say? *yoink* Or maybe leopard?
Anyway, moving on from the exciting business of carpets, this dress is too short to wear out without leggings as when I bend over you can totally see my arse, but for indoor photos it was fine. ;)
I know a lot of you prefer me in colour and most of the time so do I, but occasionally I like to join Darth Vader on the dark side.
Dress, Facebook selling group
180 denier tights, Big Bloomers Company
Boots, past season New Look wide fit
Rock n roll necklace, Punky Pins
Hair flower, past season Peacocks
Sorry there isn't much new stuff on the blog at the moment. I'm having to spend almost all my money on Christmas presents this month so I'm a very boring girl.
Thanks for reading.

Day 24 Fatshion Feb - Biker boots babe
Monday, 24 February 2014
Hiya!
I love a bit of alliteration, don't you? I'm wearing my new biker boots in this post. You might know by now that I try not to pay full price for anything. I'm a bargain queen. I got these wide fit boots from New Look when they were down from £34.99 to £19.99. I thought I'd do a dark biker type look.
Here's a close up.
Here's a photo of my make up.
Jacket, New Look Inspire
Earrings, Primark (old.)
Dress, New Look Inspire
Scarf, gift
Leggings, Very
Boots, New Look
Lippie, Mulberry by Sleek
This is day 12 of 14 black dress days as part of Fatshion Feb so 2 more black dress days to go and only 2 other outfits until the month is over. I've enjoyed it but will be glad to get back to my normal schedule of about 3-4 outfit posts a week so I can get some more varied subjects covered!
I hope you had a great weekend and your week gets off to a great start.

Rock chick OOTD #2
Tuesday, 27 August 2013
Hi!
At heart I'm a rock chick, but because I don't go out socially so much any more I don't really dress like a rock chick often. This obviously needed sorting out! This outfit is SO me. You can see a previous rock-inspired outfit here.
The leggings are a nightmare. They're a size 26 but have almost no stretch and I can barely get them over my arse which means I'm constantly pulling them up. They're so lovely I feel I need to attach the top half of another pair of leggings to them so they're wearable.
Purple lace hair bow, Peacocks (old)
Tattooed lady necklace, gift
Dress, New Look from twin pack
Belt, New Look (from floral maxi dress)
Leggings, Tesco (last year)
Shoes, Mr Price
If you were to wear an outfit which most summed you up as a person, what would it be?

Rock Chick OOTD
Saturday, 20 July 2013
Hello pickles!
And now for a little something different.
Avenged Sevenfold are one of my favourite bands. I bought this t shirt for James a couple of years ago and he's never worn it so I pinched it back and cut it up before taking the photos. I'm a rock chick and I have several band shirts, most of which I've chopped up like the one below. Once it's been washed a couple of times it'll get that 'lived in' look which is so nice with t-shirts.
If I was wearing this to a gig I'd probably keep a skirt of some description, but I'd wear my New Rock boots.
T shirt, can't remember
Necklace, Extreme Largeness
Skirt, Simply Be
Shoes, Rocket Dog
Do you have any band shirts? Including cheesy pop bands? Gooowan, tell me all!
Thanks for reading.
