Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

I watched Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy last night. Has anyone else seen it? Anyone read the book?

If so, did you get it? I was lost the whole time and had to look up the plot on Wikipedia afterwards. I think I will watch it again soon. Now I know who the spy is, I'll have to see if there were clues pointing to him throughout.

I was disappointed Tom Hardy was rendered virtually unfanciable thanks to his awful 70s hair-do, and aside from a shot taken opposite him so I could gaze into his crotch for 20 seconds, the film was a perv-free spectacle. I'll get my tiny violin out in a moment ;)

My libido put firmly to one side, I was very impressed with Tom's accent in the film, because in every role I've seen Hardy in he sounds like a different character, as well he should. Some actors are great at acting and simply awful at voices, but Mr H excels. Different accents, different nuances of speech, turning him from plummy Eames in Inception, to the addict and 'chaotically minded' character of Stuart in Stuart, A Life Backwards, to gravelly voiced Shinzon in Star Trek Nemesis.

In Tinker he was very soft-spoken, and if you've heard any of the leaked Youtube footage of the Tom' Hardy's Bane character's voice from the upcoming Batman film The Dark Knight Rises, you'll know Hardy has delved deep again to create a voice that'll make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. There are rumours that some of the voice might be fiddled around with in post-production, but he is wearing a big ol' mask on his face so that might add to the unmistakeable bowels-of-hell intonation Hardy brings to the character.

I'll finish off with a couple of clips.
