Holiday Blog Part II - The House

Hiya!

I thought I'd do a quick post about the lovely house we stayed at in Mevagissey, Cornwall.

We were very fortunate to stay where we did. A family member paid for us to stay there as a wedding present. We probably wouldn't have been able to afford to stay here otherwise. It was our first holiday since 2010 and the first holiday we'd had alone since 2007.

The garden was lovely and full of birds

There are 2 bathrooms

There are 4 bedrooms - a double, a single, and 2 twin rooms

The pool was freezing cold but lovely
The couple who own the property met us there when we arrived, gave us a tour of the house and left us with a home made cream tea. How lovely! There was everything imaginable a person could need in the house - washing powder, washing up liquid, dish scourers, bin bags, cleaning products, toilet rolls, kitchen towel, tea towels, towels, flannels, tin foil, scissors - literally anything you could've wanted was there. We took such a lot of things with us we didn't need. Everything had been thought of. It was lovely.

We booked with Sykes Cottages and the process was incredibly easy - one ten minute phone call, a deposit of about 30% taken that day, with the remainder to be paid 6 weeks before the holiday,  automatically taken by direct debit.

Where was your last holiday?
Have a great weekend. What are you up to?

  1. Oh, that place looks lovely!
My last holdiay, was at my parents caravan at a place called Greenwell Point, I love it because it has a lake, the beach, as well as lots of farmland bushland, it's everything all in one area.

    1. I love caravan holidays! Every holiday I took up until the age of 21 was in a caravan (and plenty more since!)

It sounds idyllic there. I love being out in the countryside.
