I've loved peacocks and peacock feathers for many years. My mum used to have some peacock feathers in a tankard over our fireplace when I was a child and that started a fascination all of my own. When I saw this CowCow peacock print dress it was a no-brainer to buy it.

If you've not heard about CowCow yet, they're a Hong Kong based company who make affordable clothing in a huge range of fun patterns. The dresses I have are made of a really stretchy material and come in sizes XS to 5XL. They wash well and dry in a flash and I have 6 of them now. I'm wearing a US 3X and it's a bit tight but I can live with it.

These photos were taken a couple of weeks ago when the weather was sunnier, but things are definitely feeling more autumnal in the UK now - grey skies aplenty!

I'm wearing:
Sunglasses, Primark similar here
Cardigan, similar here at Simply Be, here at Yours Clothing
CowCow peacock dress
White leggings, Yours Clothing
Skechers

I actually wore this cardigan on my wedding day, and I pulled it out again recently. I'm glad I didn't send it to the charity shop in my recent clear out. I've sold some clothes recently and I've put aside another 4 bin bags full to donate to the charity shop. I think that's 10 bags of clothes and accessories I've donated this year - that's a scary amount of things to own, let alone donate! I've decided to sell 10 things a month from now on as that should leave me with a manageable wardrobe. When you own too much your stuff owns you. I feel better for having less.

I feel like another life lately post is due - I'm currently trying to fight off some kind of bug or cold. I've been sleeping lots, running a temperature and generally feeling a bit pants, hence the week off blogging. I also have some exciting news so keep 'em peeled!

Leah xoxo

    1. Thanks Pam! You're not the first person to say that. :) I never had a dressing up box when I was a child so now I have a dressing up life. It brings me such joy to express myself through fashion. xx

  2. The print looks so much better in real life on you than in the picture! I love peacock feathers and peacock prints are a quest of mine in life. I made myself a peacock print skirt because I could never find one to buy.

    1. Thanks Kate! I wish I was as handy as you with a sewing machine. I have one, but learning to use it is another thing. ;) Peacock feathers are so pretty and any time I go somewhere with a peacock roaming the grounds I'm transfixed. xx

  3. Loving the print! I also finally ordered a CowCow dress and can't wait for it to arrive. I just hope I got the sizing right!

I've also sold and given away a lot of clothes recently. Much as I love fashion, I hate having too much stuff lying around. So everytime I buy something new, I try to get rid off something old!

  4. When i did counselling for the fear of flying clinic.. we gave peacock feathers with a peacock feather pin to represent bravery in overcoming the fear. So to me peacock feathers mean bravery and such. The dress is cute! I see it pulls at the breast but who else would see that!?

Btw i how you still have the reading glasses from years ago that i was going to buy. Life got in the way but i can pay cash on pickup! :) hee hee lmk

    1. Aww, that's lovely! Peacocks are such lovely creatures and any time I see one I could watch them for hours. Yeah it pulls but the sizing is so up in the air and I couldn't be bothered to send it back, lololol.

Remind me when you're coming over again? xx

  5. Hi Leah, that dress is gorgeous! I love peacocks, there's something about their feathers that's almost magical, other-worldly. I'm still really annoyed that you didn't get picked to be their representative, the company is nuts, you were promoting them before most people had even heard of them :/ It truly sucks. It's their loss honey, sending heaps and heaps of huggles always xxx

    1. Thank you! Me too, they're lovely creatures. Ah well, I'm going to be doing some fit modelling for them so I'm still going to get free clothes, and my friend Kitty is one of the winners so I'm really pleased for her. I'll live vicariously through her. Big hugs. :) xxx
