It may be 6 weeks away yet but I'm looking forward to Halloween (as I do every year) and took the opportunity to pull one of my Halloween tops out when the weather was a little colder a couple of weeks ago.

Grinning at this because I'm pear shaped or rather a human approximation of a pear. |
These photos were taken in London when we were staying with James's parents for the weekend. I was exhausted and it shows in my face. There's no hiding the effects of ME because when I'm exhausted I LOOK it. James had to take twice as many photos as usual because my eyes were shut in most of them. 'Too tired to keep my eyes open' isn't an exaggeration for me, it's the truth! But you know what? There are thousands of other spoonies out there who will identify with this and the tired, eye-bagged realness in these photos is for them.
I'm wearing all old things (except my jeans) but I'll link to similar things where possible at the end of the post.

I must have spent an hour trying to find a similar bag to this in style and pattern but no luck I'm afraid.
Are you a fan of Halloween?
Thanks for reading,

love this outfit and definitely feel the "IS IT HALLOWEEN YEt!?!?!?" feels for sure!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! <3 I want allllll the Halloween things!
DeleteLove the 90s grunge feel of this with the excited nod towards Halloween! I'm going to try and style costumes with clothes already in my closet. I feel like I have the fixins for a ballerina, flapper, and princess at the very least! I'm just concerned my costumes won't look any different than my everyday outfits...lol.
ReplyDeleteI try not to be too critical of my face in photos because my eyes are always so squinty or puffy from allergic reactions or whatever. But that's my day-to-day, so I've just accepted how that reality translates into my photos. If I only showed the photos on my best, healthiest days, I'd have so few to show. Like you said, I think so many people can relate, so here's to baggy eye realness!

Thanks Liz! I LOVE everything grunge. I basically wanted to be Eddie Vedder when I was a teenager. :) It's such a good idea to use clothes you already have for your costumes. I have a couple of small purchases in mind, but nothing that I won't re-wear again. I love to get the most bang for my buck, and I love spooky things all year round anyway.
DeleteThank you for the pep talk. I agree - if I only posted the 'perfect' photos there would be none of me. But I think you always look flawless in your photos. We are always our own worst critics. <3
