Once I've established I love this fragrance I looked up the scent notes. From the By Invitation website:
The fragrance starts with light, sparkling top notes of red fruits and bergamot then develops its heart notes of lily of the valley, elegant rose, wild jasmine and spicy peony. By invitation then wraps you in a warm base of sandalwood-musks, blended with an addictive vanilla praline.
Bergamot - that'll be the citrus I detected. The sharper notes (which I now know to be fruity ones) soften with time and it takes on a softer, powdery quality. It lasts almost all day on me and I imagine it would last a lot longer on scarves and coats.
The bottle is lovely - modern, but with a nod to old fashioned perfume atomisers in shape of the pull off cap. The textured metal 'bracelet' which encircles the bottle is a lovely touch, and it's a bottle I'd be happy to show off on my desk or dressing table. If you get a chance to smell this in a shop or on someone else, let me know what you think!
The perfume is available in 30, 50 and 100ml eau de parfum sizes. There's also a body lotion, shower gel, purse spray and a candle available (in the UK at least), so this range has really hit the ground running. This is no hastily created scent, no cynical attempt to cash in on Michael Bublé's large fanbase, but a well thought out range with obvious care gone into it. Keep your eyes peeled, because I doubt this'll be the only fragrance Michael Bublé brings out.
Have you smelled this? Are you a fan of Michael Bublé? I'm a fan of his music and personality.....and yes, he looks quite appealing too!
Thanks for reading.
Leah xoxo
