Cherry Coke - the taste of the 80's

Hello lovelies, here's another casual warm weather outfit. It's as hot as balls so I can't stand to wear fabrics which aren't cool. Also I'm on a kind of spending ban (except for essentials) as we're doing grown up stuff - saving for a mortgage. I've got to keep reminding myself that when we have our own place we can rescue a couple of cats, and that's helping me sit on my hands a bit. I have LOADS of clothes, but I lack inspiration a lot of the time. This next couple of years as I crack down on superfluous purchases will be a good chance for me to remember what it is to be thrifty. I remember years ago when I really was poor the inventiveness it took. I remember once when I was a teenager cutting the labels out of all my clothes and sewing them at jaunty angles onto a pair of old jeans to funk them up. I'd tie-dye or tie-bleach items to make them unique. Just buying things off the peg has made me lazy. I need to up my game again!

There's one good thing about sunny days and that's at least they pop if my outfit doesn't. I look like I'm on holiday in these photos but this harbour is about 10 minutes drive from where I live. Lucky me! Everything I'm wearing is old and even the bag - which is new - has sold out. I've linked to grey Skechers in about my last 4 posts, so that's covered. Sometimes it's refreshing not to have to search for replacement items - I did have a look for Cherry Coke t-shirts online but there's naff all in plus sizes except this (*AL £7) which is currently in stock up to a size 22. I'm living in my Skechers (still) and I'm not even sorry. I've still got a lot of tenderness around the ankle I sprained over the bone - I think it's bruised. I've had a bruised bone before and it hurt for MONTHS so I'm choosing comfort over style while I heal. I have 2 pairs but my first pair have started rubbing blisters on the underside and the top of my feet every time I wear them, so I think they need to go. I've had about 18 months' wear out of them and they've been worn at least 2-3 times a week so I guess I've had my money's worth.

Turn your face to the sun.......then run and hide in the shade. 😁

It's weird but even if my clothes don't signify my alternative nature (let alone my tattoos) wearing blue lipstick does. It's just a tiny way for me to feel less........normal. Lately I'm wearing a lot of really bold shades - this woman has no intention of growing old gracefully!
