Outfit August Day 11 - Yours Tropical Print Fringed Kimono

Hello lovelies!

I hope you had a good weekend?

I bought a kimono from Yours in the sale recently. It was something I'd had my eye on for a while and I was thrilled it came down from £30 to £19. Its full name is the Multi Tropical Print Sheer Kimono Shrug With Fringed Hem which is quite the mouthful!

Yours Multi Tropical Print Sheer Kimono Shrug With Fringed Hem

It's lovely and comfortable, and very light and airy. I'm wearing the 28-32 which has now sold out, unfortunately, but some sizes are available. Yours have loads of other lovely kimonos.

I'm wearing:
Kimono, Yours
Dress, old Yours
Leggings, Very
Shoes, old Evans
Necklace, Superdrug

Yours Clothing polka dot tunic dress OOTD

Hiya pickles,

When I was at Lakeside on Saturday with some other plus bloggers I bought this tunic dress from Yours Clothing. It's a very thin and floaty cotton and will be great if we get any hot weather this year. Here's hoping!

It's really comfortable and I know it's going to be a saviour when (if?) we get hot sticky weather.

I didn't realise when I bought the dress that the polka dots don't line up under the bust, and now I have noticed it's all I see. I think I'll wear a wide belt with it next time so it's not an issue.

We were each given a Yours tote bag in store by the manager at the end of our visit, which was very kind. It's always good to use canvas bags instead of plastic bags, and a bit of advertising for Yours too.

Here's the button up detail on the back. Very cute!

The dress is VERY oversized. I'm wearing a 24 here but could easily be in a 22 as even with the cord ties done up tightly there's a lot of room in it. To give you an idea, I'd usually wear a 28 in items with no stretch so I'd advise sizing down.

Yours Clothing black bodycon dress

Hello honey buns!

Here I am in another of the Yours Clothing dress which I snapped up a few weeks ago. This dress is made from a thick scuba type material which is soft to the touch but shows off every part of my body in detail. This isn't my favourite outfit post of recent days, put it that way.

This dress was originally £60 and I would never have paid that for it. If I had ordered it at that price I would've sent it straight back. The jewels on it are pretty, but not pretty enough to make me feel good in this dress. I think I might hack it up into a crop top and skirt. I have a sewing machine I haven't used for ooh....10 years, so maybe I should set myself a little project.

Dress, Yours Clothing no longer available
Flower crown, Primark
Tights, Big Bloomers Company
Shoes, old Evans

Plus size blogger visit to Yours Clothing Lakeside

Hey pickles,

Many of you might know I went to Lakeside on Saturday with 3 other plus size bloggers - Mookie, Charlie and Abi, plus mine and Mookie's hubbies. We went in Primark, Evans and Yours Clothing.

By the time we got to Yours it was quite late in the day and we were all getting tired so we didn't have the stamina for a long visit, but we all tried on a few things on. It was actually my first ever visit to Yours and I was really excited! I've been buying from them for years, from even before they were called Yours. When I went on holiday to Great Yarmouth, I used to go in the Size Up store there a few years running, which was what Yours were called before. I always used to look them up on the internet, waiting for them to start doing online shopping, and then they had a name change and started an online shop. I've been buying online from them ever since.

This waffle tunic felt really nice but was a bit too short over the bum for my comfort, even with leggings. It's a really nice heavyweight fabric and felt comfortable on.

Mookie tried on this jumper, which looks fab on her.

Abbey Abi (excuse my brain fog!) tried on this dress, which I think would make an excellent outfit for a posh occasion like a wedding or christening.

Abi, Mookie and Charlie all tried this dress on and it was cut slightly strangely - the waistline was too low. Shame, because the fabric is lovely.

Myself and Abi tried on this cotton polka dot tunic. As it has no stretch and I wanted an airy loose fit for summer (if we get one!) I tried on a 30/32 and it was so big two of me might have fitted in. Then the lady came to check we were OK and I asked for a 26/28, and again it was far too big. In the end I bought the 24, which I think I'm wearing in the photos below. I probably could've gone for a 22 but I wanted a bit more length, so if you're looking for a very generously cut tunic, this is a good bet. It was only £20 so I bought it. It has cute little buttons in the upper back. I'll post more detailed photos and an outfit post with it in the next couple of days.

The staff in Yours were all really friendly and eager to help. At the end the manager gave us each a cotton Yours tote bag, which was very nice. I would definitely go back to that store again. If there's one thing I'd change about the whole experience, it would be to take out some stock. Everything was very tightly packed and it was a bit hard to navigate around without knocking clothes off hangers. It was a medium sized shop so I can understand the need to pack everything in, but it's a shop for larger ladies, and there needs to be a bit of room for ample bodies to squeeze through.

Hopefully my next visit to Yours Clothing won't be too far away, but until then I'll keep buying online. My nearest stores are Crawley and Lakeside, which are both about 80 minutes drive on a good day. Hopefully it won't be too long until there are more stores.

Have you ever shopped in an online shop for years but never been to their physical store?

Yours Clothing purple 99p dress OOTD

Hiya loves!

A few weeks ago Yours Clothing were selling dresses at just 99p each, so I snapped up a few. Today myself and a bunch of other lovely ladies are posting our take on the Yours purple dress. I've already styled it up glamorously here, so I thought I'd rock it up a bit this time.

The dress is 96% polyester and 4% elastane and is a heavyweight fabric which feels expensive and luxurious. Because of the nature of the fabric it tends to cling a bit, so I'm glad I sized up. The crossover bust and ruched detail underneath are lovely touches, and the pleat detail is lovely and current. Hubby asked me today if this was a new dress, and I said 'Yes, and it cost me 99p!' He said there's no way anyone would believe that if I told them. The dress was originally £40 so what a bargain!

There are also going to be further posts this week from some of us. I was lucky enough to snag 3 99p dresses so I'll be joining in on Weds and Fri as well. Not all the ladies will be taking part every day - it depends which dress(es) they got.

Tuesday 4th March - Black and White Chiffon Dress
Wednesday 5th March - Black Bodycon Dress
Thursday 6th March - Red and Black Dress
Friday 7th March - Polka Dot Dress

Did you manage to snag the purple 99p dress from Yours?

Fatshion Feb Day 15 OOTD

Hello lovelies.

Happy Saturday! I hope you have a good one today, whatever you're up to. We're hoping to go out if the weather's less monsoon-like, as we were unable to go out yesterday as I was crippled with ovarian cyst pain. Next life, I want a penis! Moving swiftly on....

I found these leggings with the little lacy scalloped edges at the back of my leggings shelf. I forgot I had them!

Hair flower, New Look (last year.)
Tea and cake necklace, Drown Soda (seems to be out of business now)
Cardi, Primark (old.)
Dress, New Look from twinpack
Scarf tied around my wrist, charity shop
Leggings, Yours Clothing
Patent shoes, Evans

I'll be doing a proper post about my Drown Soda order soon - it's my new love.

Pop quiz - what's your favourite thing to do on a weekend? Ours is a walk on a Saturday, do a bit of exploring somewhere I can take photos of old buildings (churches and graveyards are a fave of mine) then a film or two Saturday night. Sunday is usually a lazy day for the Mr while I catch up on housework - but he's got to pull his finger out as well tomorrow as we have a landlord inspection on Monday. ;)

Fatshion Feb Day 13 - Galentines Day OOTD

Hi!

If I was going out with my ladies for Gal-entines Day eats and drinks this would be the kind of thing I'd wear. Dressing up for a night out with the girls is not something I get to do often as my friends are all over the country and other places - Sweden, Canada, etc. But before I get out my tiny fiddle, it means lots of trips to visit people! We love going visiting.

I'm not going out with any ladies for Galentines (boo hoo!) but I am going out with the Mr on Valentines Day. I'll be wearing a much more casual outfit as we're going to go explore castle ruins if it's a nice day, or go to the cinema if it rains yet again.

The dress is a lovely heavyweight lycra with ruched details under the bust, lovely wide shoulders (no bra straps show, yes!) and the lovely full pleated skirt. It's a bit of a bobby dazzler.

Dress, Yours Clothing
Earrings, Club Indulge plus size Xmas market
Jacket, Matalan (Xmas 2012.)
Corset bag, so old
Shoes, Very (past season)

I bought a 30/32 and I'm glad I did. It's way too big but because lycra fabric tends to be less than flattering I appreciate the skim of extra fabric over my tum.

Those Roebuck bags used to be a thing about 10 years ago. Every rock or goth chick seemed to have one. I have at least a couple. I looked them up and they seem to be a thing of the past. Oh well, I'm sure there are a bunch of new companies making interesting alt. bags.

Are you celebrating Valentines, Galentines, or some good ol' self love *giggle* on Friday? Whatever you do, spoil yourself as you're special and deserve to love yourself. So there. *Mrs Bossy Pants will shut up now*
