Aldi launches plus size range

Hello loves,

I'm a bit of an Aldi fan. I love a bargain - that much is a given - but apart from that I really admire their stance on animal testing. They don't test on bunnies, whee. Their Lacura face products are really good and such a good price.

Aldi also do deals called Specialbuys, which change twice weekly and tend to sell out quite quickly.

Aldi Specialbuys is launching a new Plus Size range for women on 8th May, from sizes 16+. The items are basics at a very affordable price.

Unpadded bra twin pack with double layered seamless jersey cups, sizes 38-42D, 38-42DD, 38-42E. £8.99

Cotton rich leggings with elastane, sizes 18-26 in full length or cropped lengths. £4.99

Shorty pyjamas in cotton, sizes 18-28. £8.99. Available in 2 designs.

Top, sizes 18-26. £6.99 available in red, blue and mocha. 95% cotton and 5% Lycra.

Ladies' wide fitting loafers, sizes 4-7. £8.99

Padded bra 2 pack. EDIT - single bra. Sizes 36D, 38D, 38E, 40E, 42E. £5.99, available in black and white.

Aldi is also launching a nationwide search for the new face of its Specialbuys plus size range. The lucky winner will model the range in a professional photo shoot – complete with make-up artist and wardrobe – and will see their image feature on Aldi.co.uk, Facebook, twitter and Aldi’s in store leaflet! Head to the Aldi Facebook page from May 1st to enter!

There will also be a three pack of tights in sizes XL and XXL for £2.49 and a pack of 3 underwear for sale on the 8th, and there will be a further range coming in the autumn.

I will have some items from the range to review shortly, so keep your eyes peeled.

Would you pick up some leggings and a bra with your food shop? I really like the look of the unpadded bras, PJs and shoes.

I hope if this range takes off they might increase the size range.

Fatshion Feb Day 13 - Galentines Day OOTD

Hi!

If I was going out with my ladies for Gal-entines Day eats and drinks this would be the kind of thing I'd wear. Dressing up for a night out with the girls is not something I get to do often as my friends are all over the country and other places - Sweden, Canada, etc. But before I get out my tiny fiddle, it means lots of trips to visit people! We love going visiting.

I'm not going out with any ladies for Galentines (boo hoo!) but I am going out with the Mr on Valentines Day. I'll be wearing a much more casual outfit as we're going to go explore castle ruins if it's a nice day, or go to the cinema if it rains yet again.

The dress is a lovely heavyweight lycra with ruched details under the bust, lovely wide shoulders (no bra straps show, yes!) and the lovely full pleated skirt. It's a bit of a bobby dazzler.

Dress, Yours Clothing
Earrings, Club Indulge plus size Xmas market
Jacket, Matalan (Xmas 2012.)
Corset bag, so old
Shoes, Very (past season)

I bought a 30/32 and I'm glad I did. It's way too big but because lycra fabric tends to be less than flattering I appreciate the skim of extra fabric over my tum.

Those Roebuck bags used to be a thing about 10 years ago. Every rock or goth chick seemed to have one. I have at least a couple. I looked them up and they seem to be a thing of the past. Oh well, I'm sure there are a bunch of new companies making interesting alt. bags.

Are you celebrating Valentines, Galentines, or some good ol' self love *giggle* on Friday? Whatever you do, spoil yourself as you're special and deserve to love yourself. So there. *Mrs Bossy Pants will shut up now*

Lena White OPI polishes

Hello loves!

I was reading Katie's blog the other day where she was talking about bargain OPI polishes. Before you could say 'Enabler' I was jumping in with both feet to the site where the bargains were waiting to be had - Lena White, official UK OPI stockist, who - at the time of writing - have a sale on selected OPI polishes.

My polishes came so quickly! I got 5 full sized polishes for £22 including delivery. I used a discount code - luxe20 - which gave me 20% off on top of the sale prices.

Here are a couple of quick practice looks. This one has a bit of everything!

Below I used If you moust you moust (pink) and Gold Shatter. I used 2 coats of the pink and one of the gold but could've done with 3 of the pink really.

These were my first OPI purchases and I have only good things to say. The formula is great, the brushes are fantastic, there's no foul smell and drying time is good too.

The colours I picked up were:

If you moust you moust (pink.)
Gold shatter.
Into the night (navy.)
Super bass shatter (purple.)
Shatter the Scales (green purple shatter.)

Will you be taking advantage of this most bargainous bargain?
If you've got polish on now, what colour is it?

Thanks for reading!
OPI is cruelty free (although it's owned by distinctly un-cruelty free Coty.)

Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean rave review

Hiya lovelies!

Here I am with another product I've been trying out from the Soap & Glory Bundle I bought just before Christmas, Peaches and Clean cleansing milk. Be warned, my make up free visage is further down the post.

Here's what Soap & Glory have to say about it:

Our special clogged T-zone formula Includes peach extract (with skin smoothing fruit acids), quillaja bark (a gentle natural ‘soap’), jojoba oil (an emollient skin softener), Detoxyboost™ technology (to help purify and deep clean) and Poreshrink R2™ (for a clearer, fresher, brighter complexion). In our opinion it’s the best cleansing milk on the market!

Instructions for Use

Massage a splodge of onto your cheeks in the evening (or morning, if you managed to fall asleep with your makeup on) rubbing double on any trouble spots - oily forehead, nose, chin - to maximize the purifying actives. Rinse off with water. (Repeat if you feel you need it.)

All photos can be clicked for larger images.

I've been using it for a week and I love it. I use two pumps which is enough to cleanse my face and take my make up off.

It smells absolutely gorgeous - a mix between peaches and fresh, zingy straight-out-of-the-garden herbs. That'll be the thyme and the linalool, the latter of which would explain the mintyness. It leaves my skin cleansed, removes make up and makes my face glow. My skin is dry - so dry that if I haven't moisturised in a day or two I get an itchy face and flakes come off (gross!) Normally, if I cleanse I have to moisturise straight away or else my face feels really tight, but not with this beauty. Of course my skin is better for moisturising afterwards, but if I was running late I could skip it and survive.

Excuse my scary no-make up face with all its blemishes (EEK!) but I hope it illustrates how fresh it makes my face look. There's a tiny bit of mascara residue under one eye, but there's always a bit of mascara left over when I take my make up off whatever I use.

One thing I will say is because of the AHA's (alpha hydroxy acids) in this product you will have to be more careful with sun protection, as there's a school of thought that says AHA's used incorrectly can make you more sensitive to the sun. If you're not using an SPF moisturiser, now might be the time to start! Your skin will thank you later. You can read more about AHA's here.

Have you tried this product?

You can find it in Boots.

I got it! Glorious Soap & Glory

Hello ladies (and gents, if there are any of you afoot.)

I went into town today to pick up the Soap & Glory Best Of All bargain bundle from Boots. My face lit up like a Christmas tree when I saw there were plenty left. Even better, it only cost me £4.50 instead of £27 as I had vouchers to cover the rest of the cost. You can read about the contents in my previous blog here.

The bag it all comes in is a lovely thick canvas with a sturdy zip and a big handle. I'll use it as a travel bag to put all my make up and toiletries in when I'm away from home. It'll be more than sufficient, even for the stupid amount of products I take away with me.

There are 7 toiletries in the bundle and 2 make up items - a mascara and a lip gloss.

I'm curled up in my leopard print slanket with a wheat bag and cushions all around me to conserve heat. When I went into town earlier it was cold, windy and raining and I can't get warm now. Because we live in a flat high up on a hill facing the sea we catch an awful lot of wind here. Brrrrrr!

Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!

Soap & Glory The Best Of All £27 from Friday

Hello bargainous beauties!

I got a little email today from those canny Money Saving Expert guys about Soap & Glory's The Best Of All giant bundle of beautilicious-ness!

From Friday 14th December it'll be down from £60 to £27. Everything in it bought separately costs £70 so it's an absolute steal. It'll be available online and in stores for a week, or until stocks run out.

You get:
  • The Righteous Butter™ Body Butter 300 ml
  • Hand Food™ Hand Cream 125 ml
  • Sugar Crush™ Body Scrub 300 ml
  • Clean On Me™ Shower Gel 500 ml
  • Smoothie Star™ Body Milk 500 ml
  • Heel Genius™ Foot Mask 125 ml
  • Peaches & Clean™ Cleansing Milk 200 ml
  • Super-Colour Sexy Mother Pucker™ Lip Plumper in Punch Bowl 3 ml (hot pink.)
  • Thick & Fast™ Super Volume Mascara 10 ml
It comes in a giant zippered bag. I love the Soap & Glory packaging these big deals come in. I have three or four previous years worth of packaging as they're really sturdy and reusable items. I have a big hatbox, a big sturdy box like a mini laundry basket, and a big pink canvas bag. They all get used, and are almost worth the price for the packaging alone in my opinion. This years' bag looks like it'll make an excellent make up bag or travel case so it'll definitely get used.

I really rate Hand Food - it's a brilliant hand cream. Clean On Me is great too.

I have £23 worth of Boots vouchers from last Christmas so I'm going to put it towards this set.

Will you be getting this big bundle? Go, go, go! May the VISA be with you!

From previous experience, these sets go fast, the website normally crashes under the strain so it's well worth a trip to town to pick one of these babies up in person.
