Yours Clothing 99p polka dot dress

Hello lovelies!

Happy Friday! Today brings the last of the 99p dresses from Yours Clothing. I love this dress. I have a few polka dot dresses, but this is my first in navy and I love the scoop neck.

The dots are overlaid rather than woven in, so it'll be interesting to see how they wash and wear over time, but otherwise it's a dream dress - a great length, comfortable and suitably twirly. I think this is the nicest of the dresses Yours did for 99p. I had to style it with ankle socks and dolly shoes - I'll just head off to the sock hop now, after a visit to the ice cream parlour! :)

I think polka dots have exceeded leopard print as my favourite pattern.

Yours Clothing polka dot tunic dress OOTD

Hiya pickles,

When I was at Lakeside on Saturday with some other plus bloggers I bought this tunic dress from Yours Clothing. It's a very thin and floaty cotton and will be great if we get any hot weather this year. Here's hoping!

It's really comfortable and I know it's going to be a saviour when (if?) we get hot sticky weather.

I didn't realise when I bought the dress that the polka dots don't line up under the bust, and now I have noticed it's all I see. I think I'll wear a wide belt with it next time so it's not an issue.

We were each given a Yours tote bag in store by the manager at the end of our visit, which was very kind. It's always good to use canvas bags instead of plastic bags, and a bit of advertising for Yours too.

Here's the button up detail on the back. Very cute!

The dress is VERY oversized. I'm wearing a 24 here but could easily be in a 22 as even with the cord ties done up tightly there's a lot of room in it. To give you an idea, I'd usually wear a 28 in items with no stretch so I'd advise sizing down.

Fatshion Feb day 5 - Black Pearl OOTD

Hiya ye scurvy currs!

Alas there are no black pearls nor pirates in this outfit post, although a bit of Johnny Depp is always appreciated by moi. Instead we have a lot of black, some faux pearls and my face.

This is black dress day 2/14 - a mini challenge within Fatshion February to wear one black dress in 14 different outfits.

Dress, New Look last year
Hair adornment, made for me by a Facebook friend
Pearls, gift
Leggings, Pink Clove (pulled up to look like crops.)
Bag, Very (last year.)
Shoes, Evans

There's that bloody hair band on my wrist again. Must. Take. It. Off.

I bought the hair adornment from someone on Facebook a couple of years ago for my wedding, but then I decided fat girls can wear tiaras too, so I didn't end up wearing it. But it did act as inspiration for the colour scheme of my wedding, thereabouts, so not all was lost. This outfit needed a belt, I've decided.

I can't believe that 2 years ago I seriously thought I didn't get to wear a tiara because I'm fat. Hell yes I did. Needless to say I bought two and that reminds me, I must make them a feature in an outfit post soon. If tiaras are good enough for Elton John, they're good enough for me, and YOU.

Life's too short not to shine, and on that note, farewell until tomorrow, shiny people!

Thanks for reading.

P.S. I'm being assaulted with a zillion creative ideas at the moment which I'm piling up in a series of notebooks for future use because I don't want to do blog overkill. How much blogging is TOO MUCH? Last year I averaged about 10 posts a week which I'm trying to aim for this year as well. Having just come out of a huge Fibro flare I have ideas in abundance and I'm trying to trickle-feed them rather than boring everyone brainless. What are your thoughts on a good amount of blogs per week? Thanks in advance!

Red hair, a FOTD and boobs!

Hello doll faces!

This is a bit of a hodge-podge post with a bit of everything. Last week I re-did the henna on my hair. I'm allergic to traditional hair dye in a scary way, so it's henna or au natural for me. I have quite a lot of grey, so henna it is! Although going grey is crap, the good news is when using henna, the grey hairs always show up a more vibrant shade of red, so they're natural highlights. You can see this particularly in the last photo in this post.

All photos can be clicked for larger images.

I bought two new bras last week from Evans. The polka dot one below and a teal lacy number. There is a glimpse here of the bra and some boobage. Would you like me to do a proper review of the bras? If so I'll take some better photos of this one and do photos of the teal one.

Red!

I'm using eyeshadows from the Urban Decay Naked palette here with Barry M bronze eyeliner on my bottom lash line. It's great for giving a subtle bit of oomph without screaming 'I'm as sparkly as a Christmas tree!' The lippie is actually an old Clinique lip liner in Bamboo which is donkey's years old and was hanging around in my lippie drawer all unloved. It's still available to buy, I checked yesterday.

Do you dye your hair? Have you got any grey?

I found my first white hair when I was 22. It wasn't even grey, just straight in with the white. It's an outrage! :)
