I absolutely love the dove grey colour and the crepe fabric of this dress.
I knew I wanted a relaxed fit through the top half of the dress and enough room for my wide hips, so I sized up to a size 32. I do find Lovedrobe clothes to run about a size smaller than usual, and as my bottom half is the biggest part of me the decision was wise. There are ties at both sides of the waist to pull in the waist, which I used to nip me in slightly.
As the dress is crepe it is a bit of a sausage to iron. You can only iron it on low heat, so I ironed it with a wet tea towel over the top to add steam and some creases were stubborn as you can see. Often I find the best cure for creased clothes is to let your body heat make them drop out but I was short of time on this day. The creasing along the bottom of the dress certainly didn't put me off wearing it in the future, and next time I think I'll iron it while it's still damp to get those creases out.
I absolutely ADORE this shade of grey, as it almost looks lilac in some lights.
My face just cracks me up in this shot below!
Cold shoulder shift dress Lovedrobe, (also available in coral and navy) £45
Necklace, past season Peacocks
Bag, George at Asda
Gloves, similar here £14
Footless tights Donatella's (no longer available)
Boots Brantano
The bottom half of the dress is lined and it's machine washable at 30 degrees, but don't tumble dry it as the fabric is delicate. Hark at me turning into a domestic goddess - this new place has changed me for the better! I could give Kim and Aggie a run for their money - I've become really houseproud! We're so happy here. Once we're all sorted I'll write a post with lots of pictures of our new home.
What do you think of this dress?
Thanks for reading,
Leah xoxo
