The PERFECT party dress - Evans black velvet layer dress from House of Fraser

I can't wait to tell you all about this most perfect velvet party dress from House of Fraser. It's from Evans and it's perfect for so many reasons! Read on to find out why.
Here's why I think it's the perfect party dress.
1. You don't need a shrug or cardi to cover up your upper arms (if you usually would) as the draping upper layer covers them.
2. It's gently dipped at the back so it's long enough to wear without anything on your legs if that's your preference.
3. It doesn't cling to your tummy or any other areas - it drapes beautifully.
4. As it's velvet it's toasty warm!
5. It can be dressed up or down and will match anything you team it with.

Obviously I dressed mine down a little for daytime, but with the addition of some sparkly shoes, a clutch and some bling this dress will make you the belle of the ball. House of Fraser have loads of party outfits in plus sizes and straight sizes.
I themed my makeup and accessories around my bag, which is from Asda.
....and a ruffle shot just because.
I know 'flatterering' is a dangerous term in plus size circles but this dress truly is flattering. As it's a thick material it skims over any lumps and bumps and the way it's cut gives my body the impression of having more of a waist than I do. If you want a dress that you can put on and feel instantly amazing in, this is it. I look forward to dressing it up in many more ways.

I always look mildly surprised in my photos. 😉

I'm wearing:
Festive headband, local independent chemist
Leather jacket similar here (faux leather) £34.99 up to size 32 (real leather) here £150 up to size 32
Evans black velvet layer dress* £31.50 (at time of writing)
Red 180 denier tights, Big Tights Company £18.95
Boots, past season Brantano, similar here £33.60 (at time of writing)
Christmas tree bag, George at Asda £10

I'm so in love with this bag! I saw someone take a photo of it on Facebook and I went online and bought it there and then. It's so sparkly! I can't get much in it but I don't mind. I love kitschy Christmas things.

How are you going on the Christmas shopping? (if you celebrate). I think I'm about halfway there  with the presents but it's really stressing me out. We're so skint after the move, so much so that I'm having a clear out of clothes, shoes and bags on Friday on Facebook. The link is here. I won't be selling anywhere else so get yourselves to Facebook for 7pm Friday if you want to shop my wardrobe!

Thanks for reading,
Leah xoxo
