Hello loves. I feel like prefacing all of my posts for the next three months with "Excuse my humidity hair!" or "I don't do well in the heat" but I'm sure I'm not the only person who melts at the slightest bit of heat. If you never look pristine in the heat then *high five* because I always look hot and bothered when it's muggy.

I look really tired in these photos because I am, I was/am in an ME flare up which is sapping my strength but it will pass. Let's talk about this really comfortable dress which I bought from Yours Clothing recently. Last year I bought a cap sleeved version of this dress in dark pink which you can see here.

So yes, this dress has pockets, which is always handy for those awkward moments when you don't know what to do with your hands. Introvert problems, lol! I'm wearing a size 26/28 and it's generously sized.

I'm 5ft 5 and this dress does touch the floor on me so I hoist it up under my boobs a bit. I really like a simple elasticated waist dress to add a little bit of shape - not that I have much shape. 😆 I become more apple shaped with age but I don't care. Apples are juicy!

I'm wearing:
Yours Clothing Navy Jersey Maxi Dress With Ruched Waist and Pockets *AL £26 up to size 36
Layered tribal necklace, Yours Clothing *AL £8
Moon ring from this set, ASOS Curve *AL £8
Bag, Primark (in store only, not online)

Jersey things are my go-to in summer. I don't do non-absorbant fabrics when it's hot or else it makes me want to rip my clothes off. 😄

Thanks for reading.

  1. Hi Leah, I love, love love the colour of this dress and you look amazing in it. I adore jersey, I love the way it drapes and I love how it feels too. This is such a gorgeous dress, prefect for dressing up for nights out and just as fab for daytime too. I so wish I could wear maxis! I can't though because instead of legs I was given longish ankles :) In my next life I want to be 5 foot 9 and have legs up to my ears instead of being this wee teeny thing who always has to ask folk to pass me things from high shelves in supermarkets :) Hope you're having a fab weekend honey, sending heaps of huggles xx

    1. Thanks Rosie. On the plus side you should be able to wear tunics as dresses then, which is awesome as they're usually a lot more affordable than dresses. :D I'm having a very quiet weekend as James has some kind of arthritic/exhaustion thing going on so we're homebodies all the time now. I hope you've had a good weekend and aren't too knackered from work. Hugs back. xxx

  2. Hello honey, I'm sorry James isn't feeling well, I had a pretty crappy past week or so and not feeling any better. Flattened from past two days shifts but I don't have to go out of the house till Friday so I can be an awesome hermit which is good because I need to try and rest bit. RA is seriously kicking my butt Leah ouchie and so drained all the time. Hubby & I both had last weekend off and managed to declutter bit more (mostly hubby) and he took loads of stuff to our wee local Barnados. Need to try to work on my blog bit so I'll try to have at least a couple of sofa days this week. Please pass on hugs to James for me and hope he feels better. Rest is definitely best honey. You know those wee stretchy dresses that George at asda do now and again? they're usually about £8 or so? Reading your comment made me think, I've always worn those as dresses but maybe they are tunics :) Anyway, I love those because I can wear them with leggings (never with tights because my bum pulls things up and I'm paranoid about bending over and flashing undies at all and sundry) Hope you're having a fab weekend honey, huggles always xxx

    1. Thanks hon, I appreciate that. James has been put on Naproxen and it's keeping the worst of his pain away. Because he's in less pain he's having slightly less fatigue too. We managed to get out in the car this weekend to see my brother but he was exhausted the next day. I'm glad you got some declutting done, that's always satisfying! I'm sorry RA is kicking your butt. Does the heat make your pain worse? I feel sick and dizzy a LOT when it's this hot so I'm really avoiding going out in it unless I'm going to be in front of a fan or in an air conditioned fan. It's funny hoe extremes of temperature rob us Spoonies of entire months - both too much heat and too much cold. I hope you get some respite soon. Big hugs. xxx
