10 things Tuesday - checklist before photos

Hiiii!

Before I take outfit photos there's a list of things I have to check.

  1. That there are no hanging loops sticking out.
  2. If it's cold that there are no nipples about to take anyone's eye out.
  3. That my glasses aren't all smeary so you can see mah pretty eyes. :)
  4. That my VPL isn't too bad.
  5. If I'm wearing a necklace, making sure it's round the right way or straight.
  6. Making sure you can't see my bra through the fabric of my top/dress when I use flash. (I use flash on self-timer as my camera is slower that way and it gives me time to change poses without blurring the shots.)
  7. Accessorise! Half the time I get out bags/necklaces to use and then forget to use them. Grrrr.
  8. Making sure there's no annoying clutter in the background of my shots.
  9. Remember to SMILE! Sometimes I'm so busy thinking about everything else the resting bitch face comes out.
  10. That there's no food stuck between my teeth or lipstick on my teeth.
  11. BONUS THING! That I take that bloody hair band off my wrist! The amount of times I forget and that scraggy old hair band is in shot....aaargh. #perfectionistproblems
Phew! What do you do to make sure you're on point, fashion bloggers?

Thanks for peeking,
Leah xoxo

10 Things Tuesday #2 - Pie in the sky wishlist

Howdy!

Today I have a wishlist of epic proportions all to do with blogging. What would make my life easier? Read on!

  1. A professional photographer at my beck and call. James does his best but I don't think he gets my vision sometimes. Like when I dressed up like a gothic witch and stomped around in boots I could barely walk in all for the fashion, daaaaaaaahlink. He just thinks I'm barmy.
  2. Some studio lighting so from October to March when it's darker than David Cameron's heart, people can actually see me in my indoor photos.
  3. A fast glass lens so I can take better shots when it's grim and grey.
  4. A whole room to house my clothes, shoes, bags etc. If not for hubby's drum kit, I could probably have a whole room devoted to my shit, but it keeps him out of mischief. ;) A walk in wardrobe would be amazing.
  5. Since this is a 'pie in the sky' wishlist, how about a big fat wad of money so I can buy lots of pretty dresses to flounce around in?
  6. A huge dressing table (and a well-lit room big enough to put it in) so I can do my make up in style.
  7. Someone to launder and hang up/put away all my discarded outfit pieces.
  8. A flat in London so I can go to allllll the events. (Seriously, I get hacked off with everything being in London and I'm 90 mins away. What about the rest of the UK?!)
  9. A chauffeur to take me to and from said events.
  10. My own personal delivery courier so I stop getting side-eyes from the postman. When he comes up to the door looking like Quasimodo and unfurls a huge bunch of crap for me, I'm pretty sure he hates me.
What would your pie in the sky wishlist have on it? Spill!

Thanks for reading,
Leah xoxo

10 Things Tuesday - new blog feature

Howdy!

I love lists as much as the next person, and I thought making random lists is good way of sharing a bit more of what makes me tick.

Today, 10 things I should be spending money on instead of clothes.

    1. A decent Freeview box. We recently stopped having Sky to save money and now there's nothing to watch. Literally the news, Eastenders, Neighbours and Home and Away is all I watch on tv now. Everything else is downloaded.
    2. TATTOOS! I have my next 5 tattoos planned. I need to stop buying dresses and think about permanent adornment instead. If I'm painted all pretty I'll need to spend less on clothes, right? Right!
    3. Charitable donations. 'Nuff said.
    4. Things for around the flat. I spoil me while the flat is....functional rather than pretty.
    5. Moving funds. We want to move so we can get cats, but because of my health we're going to need a removal firm to do everything, and that won't come cheap.
    6. Christmas presents! OMG, there are under 20 weekends until Santa Claus visits!
    7. A new desk. I've had my dressing table stuff in boxes and big blue IKEA bags on the bedroom floor for about 4 months.
    8. A point and shoot camera for general use, which has decent video capture so I can also do more YouTube videos. (If I get another DSLR to get the video capture I need it'll cost mega-wads). I have a £50 voucher from winning the Curry's blogger event photography competition, I've just got to find the rest of the £££.
    9. Some photo shoots as I want some professional photos of me for my blog.
    10. Some new plates. I'm a clumsy washer-upper and I think we're down to about 4 plates now, eek.
What should you be spending money on instead of whatever it is you spend it on?
