Outfit | Pleated polka

Hi!

Today's outfit has something old, something new and something sparkly. The holy trinity of clothing and accessories, you might say. I'm wearing an old top and a new skirt. I'm not really feeling much of plus size fashion at the moment, and that's probably a good thing as we're saving money for moving.

I've been examining a lot of my habits re: spending and thinking 'Do I want this more than a bigger place to live with a couple of bonus cats?' and the answer is almost always no. Of course I'm still going to get a thrill from the occasional purchase, but I'm aiming to get the majority of my clothes from charity shops or clothing swaps in future.

The skirt is from Yours Clothing and cost £12 in the sale. It has a shorter attached underskirt in a stretchy material and the much longer pleated gauzy layer. It's really feminine.

Quick tip for you - if you want to save £2 on postage when ordering from Yours, buy from their eBay page, where delivery is £1.99 (as opposed to £3.99 on the website.)

The skirt is a size 24 as anything from Yours with a fully elasticated waist is vastly oversized in my opinion. I have a size 26/28 elasticated waist skirt from them which is big enough for two people my size to get into, and that's no exaggeration.

I'm wearing:

Medium glitter hair bow, (in petrol) Crown & Glory
Top, past season Evans
Pleated skirt, past season Yours Clothing
Lipstick, Sociable by ELF

Don't get hung up on the size of your clothes. My last 2 posts have featured something in a size 24 and something in a size 30. I have everything from a size 18 to a size 32 in my wardrobe because we all know some things are really generous in size and some things are really stingy. Wear the size you feel you look best in and who gives a crap if it's bigger than the size you normally wear? Clothing manufacturers are notoriously bad at keeping sizes universal. You are more than a number. This has been a pep talk. ;)

What variety of sizes do you have in your wardrobe?

Thanks for reading!
