Hello lovelies,
I hope you had a great weekend? I had a lovely one - on Saturday my friend's mum came round to talk wedding plans (I'm a bridesmaid for the first time this year) and yesterday my brother came to visit. The three of us went into town for lunch and took photos of a Scarlett and Jo dress sent to me by House of Fraser.
I last looked at the website in November, and I'm pleased to say there's much more choice available in plus sizes on H of F now than there was a few ago - and something for every pocket - so it's well worth a look. My first place to look is always the dresses and you can see more of the goodies here.
We took photos in Hastings Old Town, which is one of my favourite places on earth - which is lucky as I'm just a few miles away. The dress is a lovely floaty number with a stretchy lining and a gauzy over layer. The floaty angel sleeves are an excellent touch, leaving room for your arms to feel free and comfortable. The waist is gently elasticated, and there's also a tie waist belt. I'm 5ft 5 and the dress comes just below my knees. The neckline is low enough to give a glint of the promise to come, yet high enough to leave something to the imagination. I've dressed it down here but it's glamorous enough to be ideal to wear in the evening with some bling, a nice clutch and a shrug or jacket to keep the chill off.
After all the furore on the internet over THAT dress I just had to wear blue and black together!
Some of these photos are overexposed. We shoot in manual, which is a bind on days like these as the sun was blaring and we were taking photos in different places with different light. I've had to adjust some of the photos to tone down the harsh glare. The dress is navy, not Cadbury purple as it looks in a couple of the overexposed photos. It's the perfect dress for feeling playful in - the wind would catch the angel sleeves or the skirt and it would make me giggle. It's also great for twirling in. Yes, I am an adult, I swear. ;)
I'm wearing:
Scarlett & Jo midnight blue kimono dress*, House of Fraser
Hair flower (from the hair flower of the month club) OWHH Millinery
Bamboo tights, Donatella's
Shoes, past season Very
Scarf, Christmas present
Jacket, past season New Look Inspire
We took quite a lot of photos so I'm going to post some more fun/scenic ones on another day. Thanks for reading.
Leah xoxo
