Hello lovelies! Today I'm wearing the New Look Curves Black Embroidered Mesh Midi Dress (as a top) over a La Redoute skirt from last year. There are lots of shots of bluebells in this post as we came across the most wonderful carpet of them while we were out on our travels around the Kentish countryside.

I'm a bit miffed with New Look at the moment. It seems when they changed from Inspire to Curves they had a sizing shuffle around and I have to go up 2 sizes to get the right fit these days. Has anyone else noticed the same thing? Or maybe I've suddenly got much fatter, who knows?! By the way, this dress isn't as long on me as it is on the model on the New Look website. The mesh part comes just below my knee and the under layer is about 5 inches above the knee. My mission this year is to get brave with getting my legs out - one of my least favourite body parts due to the red rash on them from Fibromyalgia and the constant bruises caused by joint hypermobility disorder. Some sunshine would help - it's currently effing freezing in the UK!

You can see how I wore the black version of this skirt here.

Thanks for reading. Leah xoxo

  2. Love the skirt! I visited a local bluebell woods on Wednesday- although my photos aren't as good as yours as my camera isn't working so well since Rosie chewed off the lens and shutter a couple of months back! It was really pretty, though. xx

    1. Ah, bless Rosie! It's a good job she's completely adorable. :) James has been taking lots of shots with our zoom lens. We'd forgotten how good it is after a long winter of not doing much, and James has been getting some brilliant shots. xx

  3. I love this skirt! I bet it's so much fun to swish about in. I find New Look to be totally all over the place with their sizing, I always have to try on a few different ones. Gorgeous photos too x

    1. Thanks Josie! I LOVE swishing, it makes me feel about 5 years old. Wonderful! Yeah, I think they get things made in so many different places size control is out of the window. James is turning into quite the David Bailey! :D x

  4. The photos in this post are absolutely gorgeous! I really like the outfit as well. In fact, I was going to order that skirt but when I switched from the UK site to the international site it was a lot more expensive there, which feels a bit strange! It's 70% off on the UK site but only 45% off on the international site. I think I'm going to see if I can get a similar skirt somewhere else for a bit cheaper. :D It is gorgeous though!

    1. Oh no, that sucks! It should be the same everywhere. Would it be any cheaper for me to get it sent to me and then post it to you? xx

  5. I really love the photo format of this post, Leah! The way you incorporated the photos of the flowers and setting made the photos so fun and pretty to scroll through. Obviously I love the romantic dress-as-top and skirt separately, but the way you paired them together is genius! I will be checking out both of these pieces. What fabulous finds and creative styling!

    1. Thanks Liz. <3 I love flowers and any time I'm near them I'm happy, especially if they coincidentally mesh well with my outfit. ;) I'm looking forward to hopefully a long summer of floral and fashion frolicks.
