I was put in contact with Barbara from Another Gorgeous Day by one of my old school friends. When it came to choosing a favourite quote for Barbara to immortalise on one of her personalised wall plaques, I was spoiled for choice, as there are so many quotes which mean the world to me.
Finally I settled on an Oscar Wilde quote which sums up pretty much how I feel about individuality:
Be yourself, everyone else is already taken.
I chose the colours I wanted the text to be in and just a few days later my plaque arrived in a sturdy board backed envelope. The plaque is a smoky effect plastic which makes it look like glass. It looks much nicer in the flesh than on the website and I think it looks more expensive than it is. They're 21 x 12 cm (8.2 inches x 4.7 inches.)
I haven't found a permanent home for it yet because the flat is in a state of flux because of the run up to Christmas - I haven't even put the trees up yet! I tried it on the hallway wall, then I leaned it against the glass of my display cabinet, but it would also look great with a bit of narrow ribbon threaded through the centre hole and hung on a wall anywhere.
Another Gorgeous Day's handmade plaques are £14.95, and they also do a huge amount of other gifts such as notebooks and journals and wooden plaques.
I think the plaques would make great gifts, and because you can totally personalise them the world's your oyster.
