Outfit post || Polka dots with Lady V London

Hello buttercups!

I bought this Lady V London Estella dress (designed by Georgina Horne of Fuller Figure Fuller Bust) a couple of months ago but had it saved for my photoshoot with Jim Hawkins. I haven't had any full length shots back from Jim (the shoot was mainly headshots for the blog instead of my usual gurning Instagram selfies!) so I thought it was about time I showed off this outfit. James took some quick mobile phone photos of me on the way home from the shoot.

I'm wearing a size 30/32 here which is too big (I look like I have no waist). When I'm buying clothes for the first time from a company and don't know what the fit is like I can't be arsed to send something back for an exchange, so I always size up. I hate queuing in the post office to return things, what can I say? I'd rather things be too big than too small.

(I subsequently bought a wine red dress in the Black Friday sale which is a 28/30 and is a better fit, but still a little too big.) You'll see that dress on me some time after Xmas.

That aside, I love the dress - the fabric is thick and good quality. It has slight stretch for comfort and the length is great. In fact my only bugbear is the way the fabric matches up at the waist. As you can see there's a narrow waistband before the skirt flares out below. This is a £50 dress with a pattern that repeats all the damn time. Could they have not tried to match the dots up a little bit better? At the front at least. Still, I know the dress will wash and wear a treat and will last years so it was a good little investment. I felt really confident in it too, and would definitely wear this outfit again for a wedding or other dressy occasion.

Sometimes an opportunity comes along which is too good to miss up, and seeing this sign with its missing L was fate.

Black and white polka dot Estella dress, Lady V London
Red cardi & shoes from my FB friend Lauren
Fishnet tights, Donatella's
Mirror necklace, eBay - all of £1.25 it cost me!
Hair flower, past season Peacocks.co.uk

I should've got a photo of the back of this cardi/shrug, it has a big bow on it and is super cute.

Have you tried anything by Lady V London? Do you order 2 sizes to ensure the correct fit, or wing it like me?

Thanks for reading!
Leah xoxo
