Hiya pickles, I have another swimwear post today! This time I'm wearing a swimsuit and some accessories from Simply Be. My obsession with blue and greens carries on, and they're colours I don't often see mixed, which is why I've mixed them. I'm wearing this Magisculpt concealing swimsuit in a size 30. I read reviews which said the swimsuit comes up really small so I sized up and I'm glad I did.

Let's start with the things I like about this costume. I love the colour and the control - it's a firm control swimsuit. I also like the ruching across the body. Although I had sized up one size in hindsight I probably could've sized up again. I'm wearing it in a standard length as I have a short torso, but there's still not enough length in the costume to cover my boobs to my liking. Just about every one piece I own isn't properly designed for the plus size person. I spoke about this issue to dozens of women on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram this week and they ALL said the same thing - plus size swimsuits aren't long enough to cover a large tummy. This is where scaling up patterns from straight sizes is unhelpful. There
has to be extra length to account for the large tummies a lot of plus size people have. So although in many ways this costume is gorgeous, my boobs aren't supported. It's just too short in the body to do anything but drag my boobs downward, flattening them and leaving them looking a bit sad. Magisculpt do longer length swimsuits and now I know they're short on me at least I can order a longer length one next time.
I have wide spaced F cup boobs that need firm control or they end up in my armpits. The ideal swimsuit for me would have fully formed cups, underwires and a clasp like a bra, but you don't see many one pieces like this. I get better support when I wear a tankini top, as then there's enough material to cover my torso without pulling my boobs down. The swimsuit is sold out in this teal colour, although it's still available in black, and Magisculpt do lots more styles in both regular and long lengths. Here are the rest of Simply Be's

I love the tassels on this necklace - it's safe to say pompoms and tassels were my accessory crush this summer. I wonder what my obsessions will be over Autumn/Winter?
